Barbados Museum and Historical Society – A TOURIST IN THE CARIBBEAN

Barbados Museum and Historical Society

The museum is a fascinating visit as it was once a military prison known as the St. Anns Garrison built around 1920.  In 1833 it became the home of the Museum where many Galleries are housed displaying elements of old Barbados. There are about eight different Galleries from which to browse the different aspects of present and ancient Barbadian culture including the Military and Children’s gallery. At the museum visitors will be greeted with a wide array of West Indian culture, reproduction of maps, prints and other museum specimens, crafts and jewelry and an extensive array of varied collection appealing to a wide range of people.
