Betty’s Hope Historic Sugar Plantation – A TOURIST IN THE CARIBBEAN

Betty’s Hope Historic Sugar Plantation

It was once a sugarcane plantation that was established in 1650. This was home to a large number of people from African origin brought to the island as slaves. The plantation flourished as s sucessful agricultural enterprise during slavery.  Although no longer in operation, there are buildings with some old equipment that have been restored as a museum with a visitors’ center. There are two sugar mill towers and a small interpretation site that still brace the museum.
