Callwood Rum Distillery

The Rum Distillery located in the Cane Garden Bay on the island of Tortola is one of the last of its kind in the British Virgin Islands and said to be one of the Rum Distillery in the Caribbean. The site features the original structure of a Sugar Cane distillery. It is said that the original boiler in the boiling room still works and produces rum which is then stored in separate casks in storage.  The Caribbean is known for its manufacturing of rum through its production of sugar cane dating back to the 1600s. It was distilleries like this spread across the Caribbean that rum was produced and exported to countries like Europe and North America. There is also an art gallery and a gift shop on the property which was once the old guards’ quarters.
