Built around 1777 by the Jesuits of beautiful Italian Barouke facade which is the most interesting element of the cathedral with its numerous columns, niches, eardrums and coat of arms. The beauty of coral use on the building is very much to be admired.  It is said that the remains of Christopher Columbus rested in the central nave of the temple until 1898 until it was removed to Seville, Spain. The church also has a valuable image of the pope preparing to celebrate mass in the 15th century.
