Grenada National Museum

The Grenada National Museum is situated in St. Georges. It is located in the French Barracks, on the Fort George foundation which was built in 1704.   The museum was established in 1976 on the theme of Archaeology and History. The museum is divided into various sections, viz slavery, first inhabitants, plantation economy, whaling and fishing, archaeology and early transport, and technology.  The museum displays a variety of historical items including Carib and Arawak artifacts, sugar processing machines and equipment, and items on the whaling industry.
