Royal Naval Dockyard

The tip of the western end of the island in Sandys Parish lies the Royal Naval Dockyard, a resplendent place of history, fun, and entertainment on the island.  It was built by the British, in the early 19th century to defend British superiority on the seas. The fortresses where the troops once marched, now has flowers, lawns, and lined lanes. The warehouse has been converted to the iconic twin Clock-Tower Shopping Mall. The Royal Naval Dockyard also has the Dolphin Quest, a Historic Museum, Glassmaking studio, Fun Golf area, Snorkel Park where you can snorkel, swim, jet ski and also party all night.   It also acts as a main port for docking of the cruise ships in King’s wharf and Heritage wharf.
