Sulphur Springs – A TOURIST IN THE CARIBBEAN

Sulphur Springs

Sulphur Springs is the world’s only ‘drive-in’ volcano and named for the sulfur once found on the site.  It is located toward the southwestern side of the island. It is a popular tourist destination as they can drive up to the edge of the spring and experience the tar colored pits.  A couple of hundred yards downstream from the Springs, the water temperature is still hot (around 110 Fahrenheit) but cool enough for tourists to enter and have a mud bath. The mud baths are believed to have medicinal values while soaking in the therapeutic springs.
