Virgin Islands National Park

Covering over twenty-three square miles and 7,000 acres of land on the island of St. John and Hassel Island in St Thomas harbor, the Virgin Islands National Park features breathtaking beaches, tropical forests, quiet coves,  coral reefs, historic plantation ruins and artifacts from the islands’ history. The landscapes consist of steep mountains, deep valleys mangrove swamps and over 800 species of plants, 20 species of tropical birds, spread throughout the Park. Visit the park for its history, see the ruins of old sugar plantations and learn about the history, geology, trees, mammals, birds, or other plants and wildlife in the area.
